[RMVX ACE] Looking for ruby language tutorials
author=TrihanIn that case. How do you know where everything is?
That's basically just knowing where in the scripts things get done, knowing how they work, and subsequently knowing what you need to change to make it behave differently. There isn't really a tutorial for that. :P
[RMVX ACE] Looking for ruby language tutorials
author=TrihanI will give it a shot. It would be awesome to be able to make all those tiny script changes that you end up doing for me :D
Again, depends on what it is you're looking to do. There isn't really a hard and fast complexity list of things you can do with a programming language, and generally you create a piece of code because you need something specific done.
[RMVX ACE] Looking for ruby language tutorials
author=TrihanI don't know. What would the most complicated thing I could do after I am done with your tutorial?
What is it specifically that you want to learn about? I'm guessing my Slip into Ruby series isn't extensive enough for your needs.
[RMVX ACE] Looking for ruby language tutorials
Tried googling. Each one seems slightly different especially the headers. None works in codeblocks. Majoring in Computer Science. Would like a tutorial that will work in oodeblocks and be extensive enough that I can learn it alongside my entire Computer Science major.
[RMVX ACE] How make average steps for encounter a constant?
[RMVX ACE] How make average steps for encounter a constant?
You know how the steps on map properties are the average steps required for each encounter. I want it to be a constant instead. If its 10 then an enemy should appear after every 10 steps.
Expecting a script solution. Thank you.

When you the designers are players
What games do you play?
How do you play them to become better designers?
How many games do you beat?
In what difficulty to you play?
Do you usually quit after you have understood the game?
Basically curious to know every detail of your gaming habits.

[RMVX ACE] The perfect offence to deter people from over leveling
author=LibertyI want people to be able to grind if they are absolutely sure they cannot beat a stage with the recommended level. Its is a very tiny game, I have nothing to give away except for maybe money. But after the shops are bought out money wont even matter. And if they grind they will at the end still end up with lots of money.
...Why not just disable levelling above the recommended level, a la Wyrm Warriors? Set level cap, raise it after boss battle.
Or give awards if they're on a certain level when they fight the boss. Since boss battles are evented, have a checker see what level your heroes are on and after the battle give them a reward based on that. If they're over the level, how about something like a 'raw cod' (like the fish) and if they over-achieve for every boss battle, they can use the raw fishes to create the Fish Blade which is floppy and they're forced to use it on the last boss battle. ;p
[RMVX ACE] The perfect offence to deter people from over leveling
Working on a rpg. Before each level there is sign board before each stage with the recommended level and maximum level on it. Looking for an offensive work or name calling to deter people from grinding, such as maximum level 3 for loosers, sort of like the pink belt in one of the ninja gaiden games.
Now what would be the perfect work or name calling that is would not be too offensive but offensive enough.
